A Page From the History Books - The sweetest rebellion. In 2009, the House of Masaba disrupted the scene with the "Candy" print—a playful, unapologetic celebration of youth and whimsy. This specific "half-and-half" saree, pairing cool mint with electric pink, defined the color-blocking craze of the early 2010s. It was a saree that didn’t take itself too seriously, yet became serious business for collectors who recognized it as the ultimate "mood" drape of the decade.
Reimagined in 2026 Seventeen years later, the sweetness remains, but the sophistication has evolved. The original crepe has been upgraded to 100% Pure Habutai Silk, giving the saree a lustrous, liquid drape that the original could only dream of. The gold foil candy motifs have been applied using a modern "Soft-Press" technique, ensuring they shimmer like molten gold without the stiffness or cracking often associated with vintage foils.
The Collector’s Note
This is the final burst of the flavour. As Masaba notes, these motifs were the "spine of the business," and the Candy print is perhaps the rarest of them all. This revival is a closed loop—once these 45 hand-numbered units are gone, the vault closes on this era forever. Your serial number is proof that you secured a piece of the archive before it vanished back into history.
